Lexington, Kentucky (January 16, 2024) – Lexington Public Library is proud to announce their new Black Voices Book Club which is dedicated to discussing literary works by black authors. The Club meets on the third Saturday of each month.
Children 7 and under must be accompanied by a responsible caregiver. Please note that we will be building with the classic Lego bricks that contain small parts.

The Kloiber Foundation STEAM Lab, located on the fourth floor of Central Library at 140 East Main Street, is a space for youth and families to explore and create using resources and programs related to Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM). Watercolor painting club with a Youtube lesson each month suitable for beginners, dilettantes, and anyone who just wants to hang out and paint with us. We will be following a series of tutorials that start with the basics at our first meeting and build on those skills with each class that follows. Registration required so I will be able to purchase enough supplies for everyone.

Join us at West Sixth Brewing for our monthly Cult Classics Book Club! This month, we will be discussing "We Have Always Lived In The Castle" by Shirley Jackson. Copies of the book are available at the previous month meeting, or the Central Library's front desk.
Let's explore how our senses affect our eating experience and discuss some activities that allow us to have playful experiences with food. Parents, caregivers, and children are invited to join the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service to learn how using our senses can make eating a more enjoyable experience. Registration is recommended but not required.

Then join us at West Sixth Brewing for our monthly Cult Classics Book Club! This month, we'll be reading "Queer" by William S. Burroughs. Books available at the previous month's meeting, or at the front desk of the Central Library.
It's summer and that means vacation time, therefore we'll be celebrating with the Recipe Road Trip Edition of Bite Club! We'll be cooking our way across the USA with cookbooks focusing on Americana recipes, such as nostalgic dishes, bakes from different states, and diner food. Members can choose a recipe from one of the cookbooks provided or use their own cookbook/recipe to contribute a dish.
For Summer, the Blue Grass True Crime Book Club is reading & discussing David Dominé's A Dark Room in Glitter Ball City!
Teens will get hands-on experience, try new flavors, and have fun cooking together. For middle and high schoolers. Registration required.
Join Northside staff and learn to make a simple, traditional Cathedral Windows quilt. Make one block each month and you will make a finished small quilt or throw by the end of 12 months! Fabric and sewing tools provided while supplies last. Prerequisites: you must already be able to thread a needle and hand sew a straight stitch and a slip stitch. Please register if you plan to attend.
