Favorite Series Starters

When I read stories, I typically get attached to the characters or the world that the author has so brilliantly created; while I enjoy stand-alone reads, some of the best journeys come from characters in a series. These titles are the first books in some of my favorite series that span several genres with choices for teens and adults alike!
