The Diabetes Self Management
Program (DSMP) is a peer-led workshop for individuals with a Type II
diabetes diagnosis.

DSMP workshops are designed to help individuals gain self-confidence in
their ability to control their symptoms and learn how their health
problems affect their lives. Small-group, highly interactive workshops
are six (6) weeks long, meeting once per week, and are facilitated by a
pair of leaders of which one or both are individuals with Type II
diabetes.

The workshop topics include the following:

. Working with Your Health Care Professional and Health Care System
. Preventing Low Blood Sugar
. Relaxation Techniques and Stress Management
. Monitoring Blood Sugar
. Preventing Complications.

If you have questions regarding your Type II diabetes diagnosis, or are
struggling with handing this illness, join us for this free workshop. Registration required.

In this introductory class, students will learn the basics of what makes a "beautiful hand": spacing, slant, uniformity and grace. Students also will learn the secret of using an italic nib. Bring your own calligraphy kit (not a dip pen!) or purchase markers in class for $2 each. Presented by Elise Mandel. Limit 15 participants. Registration required.
