Users with fines exceeding $5.00 will not be allowed to check out or reserve items. Accounts with items more than 60 days overdue will be referred to a collection agency.
Returning Materials
Materials may be returned to any Lexington Public Library location.
All items may be returned through the outside book drop except for CDs, DVDs, VHS and audio cassettes.
Renewal Policies
Items may be renewed unless the item has had a reserve placed on it. Two renewals are allowed per item. Overdue items may not be eligible for renewals.
Items may be renewed at any library location, by telephone from the location from which they were borrowed, on our telephone renewal line (514-7368), or online.
We now have a 24-hour renewal line for your convenience. Just dial 514-7368 and enter your card number and pin (the pin is the last 4 digits of your phone number).
Holds Policy
Updated October 3rd.
Items may be placed on hold at any branch of the Lexington Public Library. Your default holds location is the location where you originally signed up for your library card.
Items can be placed on hold for 7 days and 15 items maximum.
Holds not picked up in 7 days will be re-shelved and customers will be charged $1 per item not picked up.

Unclaimed holds prohibit customers from enjoying library materials
