This is a list of upcoming computer classes at Lexington Public Library locations.  Unless noted, all classes are free, one-time sessions.  Advance registration is required and can be completed by clicking on the class's "Register Now" link.

Please note any prerequisites and review General Class Information before registering for a class.

Advanced Features of Excel 2013

Learn about pivot tables, table formatting, and advanced formulas. Prerequisite: Intermediate Features of Excel 2013 or extensive previous experience with Excel.

Learn the basics of GarageBand, the audio recording and editing software from Apple.

Discover how to plan, create and host a website. The class exercise uses Weebly.com’s free hosting service to get students started. Prerequisite: Internet Basics or previous internet experience. You must have a working email address to create an account.

Mouse and keyboard Basics

Learners will experience a tutorial that teaches all the basic mouse movements, along with a brief introduction to ergonomics and touch typing. No computer experience necessary.

Movies, Magazines, and More: Digital content at your library

Learners will discover how to use OverDrive, Zinio, OneClick Digital, and Freegal to check out e-magazines, stream movies, download free music and more. For PCs, tablets, and e-readers. Feel free to bring your own device.

Online Storage: Access your files from anywhere

This workshop introduces the cloud storage and highlights Microsoft SkyDrive as well as introducing students to other free storage websites. Learners will discover how online storage can work for them and how to access their stored files from anywhere they have an internet connection. Prerequisite: Internet Basics or previous Internet experience. Must have a working cell phone number to create an account.

PC Basics

This workshop is designed for an audience that is new to computing. Learners will discover how to access the desktop, how to save, create, and move files and folders; and how to pin important stuff to the Start screen. Prerequisite: Students should be able to use the mouse and keyboard.

Photoshop 2: Layers

Learn to effectively use layers in Photoshop. You'll make a multi-layer project using images and text, and use layer masks.

Prerequisite: Photoshop Basics or some Photoshop experience.

We'll talk about how to format and upload images, write interesting and engaging product descriptions, keep yourself organized for tax time, and tackle the dreaded question: How much should I charge?
