After Effects Basics

Learn the basics of Adobe's 3D animation program, After Effects.

Some experience with Adobe programs, like Photoshop or video editing programs, like iMovie or Final Cut Pro, is necessary.

Computer Basics 2

Practice using the mouse, get signed up for an email account, and learn to use an email account. Prerequisite: Computer Basics Level 1 class or ability to use the mouse and keyboard.

Computer Basics 3

Practice managing files, using the recycle bin, and signing up for additional computer classes. Prerequisite: Computer Basics Level 2 class or experience using email and Internet.

Digital Photography 2

In part two of Digital Photography we will use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Bridge to organize photos, and use automation to resize, watermark, and batch edit them.

Prerequisite: Introduction to Digital Photography or some experience with Photoshop.

This workshop introduces the cloud connectivity of Windows 8 and highlights SkyDrive. Learners will discover how to connect to their files in the cloud using their Microsoft account as well as different ways to access and manage their files and photos on SkyDrive. Prerequisite: Explore PC Basics

This class introduces the basic functions and uses of a spreadsheet program. Prerequisite: Word Level 2 class or experience using Excel and the Office ribbon toolbar.

This workshop is designed for an audience that is new to computing. In addition to getting an introduction to the Windows 8 PC, learners will discover how to access the desktop, how to use files, folders, and libraries; how to jump to files quickly, and how to pin important stuff to the Start screen. Final Cut Pro X Basics

Create your own 30-45 second video spot using the professional grade video editing software. This class builds on techniques learned in iMovie 2.

Prerequisite: iMovie 2.

Final Cut Pro X Beyond Basics

Learn to use the more advanced editing functions of Final Cut Pro X including: color correction, green screen effects, adjusting video effects over time with keyframes and much more. All "problem" video clips will be provided for you.

Learn the basic operations of GarageBand, the audio recording and editing software from Apple.

Illustrator 2

Build on the techniques learned in Illustrator Basics to create your own logo, cartoon and letterhead.

Illustrator Basics

Learn the basics of creating graphic designs and images from photos and creating unique material using the basic tools and processes of Illustrator.

iMovie 1

Create an original video with a photo background, animated text and video effects. This is a great class for beginners.

iMovie 2

Edit your own digital video with iMovie. Add music, titles and video effects, and remove video you don't want. Bringing your own video on digital media is recommended, but not required.

Prerequisite: iMovie 1.

InDesign Basics

Learn the most powerful layout program in the industry. Use textboxes and paragraph settings to better organize your copy and save time by using presets while creating a multi-page document such as fliers and brochures.

Prerequisites: Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.

Introduction to Digital Photography

Learn the basics of indoor and outdoor digital photography, and edit your photos in iPhoto and Photoshop. Feel free to bring your own digital, stand-alone camera, or use your smartphone camera.

Learners will discover how to effectively navigate in Windows 8. Participants tour the Start screen and experiment with touch gestures, live tiles, and charms. This workshop also shows how to work efficiently with snap and keyboard shortcuts. Prerequisite: Explore PC Basics

Learn to use the mouse and keyboard

Learners will experience a tutorial that teaches all the basic mouse movements, along with a brief introduction to ergonomics and touch typing. No computer experience necessary.

Meet the new Windows

Learners will experience the new features of Windows 8, including how to personalize their device with picture password, download apps they love, and use the cloud to their advantage. Finally, learners will get a great overview of how to navigate Windows 8. Prerequisite: Explore PC Basics or previous experience using Windows
